i still get mad at other writers who kill off chars even though i do it myself. Its weird when i read about a char thats been killed off in someone else's work i still sort of imagine that char as alive but when i kill off a char its really like they're dead. _________________

yeah, it really affects you when one of your own characters die. Tho I've shed plenty of tears for other authors characters deaths, I still find it the hardest when killing a character of my own, because its like losing family, lol, or maybe even a prt of you XD since technically, your characters are little peice of yourself in writing, doing things we could only dream up in our minds. _________________

mostly fantasy - last two books I wrote were in real life settings, but different circumstacese, like - one is about what happened after the apocalypse - one is about a war after some really bad natural disasters wiped out a lot of the world. and the ones before that were complete fantasy, from the strange named places, to the magic weilding royals, lol. _________________

What for you is the easiest and hardest part of writing a story? For me the easiest part is coming up with the basic idea of the story and the world its set in. they just jump into my head, I got one once while shutting the roller door. The hardest part is coming up with peoples names, i stress out so much over if the name sounds right or not. I'll change the chars names that many times, i just find it really difficult coming up with them. _________________

hm... the hardest part for me when coming up with a story is probably just starting it - mostly all my writing ideas come from various places, sometimes I'll come up with a story while listening music, driving around, or like a scene in a movie will give me an idea (example: a movie I watched with a field of cherry trees in full bloom - gave me an idea that had absolutely nothing to do with the actual movie I was watching)and sometimes dreams. Most of the time I write randomly I get the begining and just let it flow, most of the time things just fall into place. When I write its completely by ear. I'll usually think up shortly after some plot twists to lead up to. Names aren't too hard for me - I usually pick names that either fit the character or names that I personally like a lot. I never worry about it, because once you pick a name, no matter how dumb it is to anyone, its not the name, but character that makes the difference _________________

ive heard of people getting ideas from music before but i never have, i do like to write while listening to music though. isn't it weird where ideas come from, like i said ive gotten 1 while closing the roller door, plenty while driving and watching tv and some while just walking around. (you should see my phone its full of these 2 sentence story descriptions) See i write randomly as well, though i only do it when im a bit stuck in where to go next. When i met Garth Nix (don't know if you've heard of him but hes an aussie author) i asked him what he does when hes stuck at a certain point in a story, and he told me what ive heard many other writers say. It's better to write utter random crap than nothing at all, cos you can edit crap but you can't change nothing. lol i wish i had your casualness about names i don't know why but im always stressing over them. _________________
