Hi! I'm Nanashi (名無し). To prevent confusion: I'm not affiliated with a certain fansub group which might instantly come to mind. I learn Japanese in my free time and only began watching Anime to improve my Japanese and get some practice in listening comprehension. I started with Naruto and needed something more to watch, because half an hour of training material per week just isn't enough, so I randomly picked up D.Gray-Man, which was another project of a group which subbed Naruto back then. Aaaaand... I became hooked. Then that group fell behind, another group fell behind, yet another group dropped DGM and the first group meanwhile also dropped it - so I found H-S. For some reason I also happen to find the whole fansubbing process interesting, so besides watching DGM it's also interesting to see a new group evolve.

Greetings to you, a person who joined today, just like me. I'm the local grammar nazi. I would love to pick up Japanese myself, but I can't ever find the time to actually study it. I'm amazed at how much I've managed to pick up through anime though. Languages fascinate me you see, but I'm rambling. Welcome and enjoy your stay here. ^.^

*waves at WolfReborn* Thanks! And hi, Univenom! I'm a grammar nazi myself, which is especially bad in a forum like this, because English is not my first language. I read your introduction thread, too. It's always fascinating to see how many people with an IT/CS background you can find in the Anime scene. I'm a CS major myself. ^^

I'm not. As I said in that thread, I'm an education major. It's one of the few professions where I can put my nit-picky grammar to good use. |

Welcome Nanashi... and yes you are correct about the part people may mistake you as being affiliated with the some fansub which you so happen to choose as a nick... Cause I was one of the victims... |

Thanks, Higure, but I guess it wouldn't hurt if you got some sleep and released a bit later. ^^ @Fabian: Hehe. I didn't choose my nick because of that group, though. I just chose it knowing that people might mistake me for them. Nanashi (名無し) means "anonymous" or "without name". ( ^_^)/

Okay - I'm back from photoshopping an avatar. ^^ Exorcist coat... 'sounds very, very awesome. I'm considering to apply for a position here, but before I try to translate a raw on my own, I have a few questions: - How long should it take (max) to TL an episode? - When would I have to be available in which timezone?

I'd say to translate a whole episode all by yourself would depend on how fluently you understand japanese? for me, translating takes a long time because I'm not very good, so I'd say, what? 3 or 4 hours? lol um, really we'd like translating to start as soon as the RAW comes out on tuesdays, which lately is around 2 to 6 pm Pacific time. _________________

Yikes. 2-6 to 6-10 pm PST is deep in the night over here. I think it'd be hard to be regularly online after 5 pm PST.

aw, dang. lol. sometimes it does come out earlier. If the RAWs were like they were before (10 AM my time) it'd be a lot better, for everyone XD lol. _________________

10 am PST would be absolutely perfect. Do you need an unreliable co-translator?
